August 8, 2011 Yeah, It's Been A While

So I guess it's been since December since I've posted a blog. Wow time flies.

Well, if you remember in my last post talking about Disney, well that's been done and then some, lol. My family and I had a great time in Florida, until we were on our way back home. The weather was wonderful and my girls had the trip of a lifetime (or at least until we go again when they're older and the can ride all the rides, he he). Our blue Chevy Aveo decided to give us trouble on the trip home. We barely crossed the Florida state line into Georgia and our car broke down and we live around Columbus Ohio! Talk about putting a crappy end to a nice trip. So Rob's mom had to get a rental car and drive all the way down to come get us. Trust me, if would've been a different story if the girls weren't with us. Besides the car meltdown, we had an awesome time and Rob and I really enjoyed the swimming pool at the vacation house we rented. I can't remember the last time I was outside so much! I LOVED it!!! I so WANT to move there.

As for my weight loss, it's coming along slowly. I did get down to 190lbs, but I was cut loose form my previous job and was off for a while and put 10lbs back on. So right now I'm kinda stuck at 200 and don't know what to really do. I can tell I'm putting on muscle and my body is getting smaller in places but the weight just isn't coming off. I work at my village's new athletic club, so I'm up at 4am and open the building at 5am. So I have no excuses NOT to exercise. And I don't really have a reason to call off either. So I guess that's a couple of reasons why I like the job (except for the 4am wake-up, he he).

So I've revised my meal plan (I think I over-think it too much, lol) and my workout.  I've been doing some research and checking out different websites and my Oxygen magazines for some workout plans. One website I've been looking into is The Fitness Factory started by Mike Davies here in Columbus, OH. He's the best of the best in my opinion. He's transformed so my figures, it's unbelievable! One big reason I've been checking this site out, is that in the back of my mind, there's that little voice saying that I think it would be cool to enter a Figure Competition. It's a huge goal considering diet is a major factor if you are REALLY want to make the commitment. This would be a huge goal for me (long-term anyway considering it's gonna take time to get a low body fat percentage) and right now I'm trying to get down to 119lbs and build muscle. I haven't even told Rob about my goal because I think he may laugh about it, but I guess I shouldn't say that until I actually say something to him. And I can't wait until March too! This year I'm determined to go to the Arnold Sport's Festival. Wish me luck on that!

December 6, 2010 December Already?

I can’t believe its December already. My daughters have this week and 4 days next week and then its Christmas vacation. Before you know it, it will be January 1st.


Well I went through another temp service to look for a job and it looks like I’m going to be working in another warehouse. It’s a very popular cosmetics company. The only annoying thing about the job so far is that I haven’t even started yet. I have a basic idea of what the work is like, but I really need to get back to work and make money. As I mentioned in my last post, we are really considering a Disney vacation.

So I went out to Wal-mart today and bought myself a bulletin board. I decided that if I keep my goals in view, I will stick to them better. Since my elliptical is my bedroom, it’s one of the things I first see in the morning when I wake up. So I decided to put the BB there that way I can focus on my goals and plans while I’m on the elliptical. After really thinking about my plan, I figured a visual would be a good motivator.

Going by Rob’s example, I made my own vacation countdown as well as a “weight goal” countdown. I started with the amount of pounds I need to lose to reach my goal weight. By having this “in my sight” I know that I don’t want the weight loss number to be huge, so I’ll be determined to make that number smaller. I am hoping that this really helps me and the fact of counting down to a family vacation too. I know I want to be a healthier size when we go. Being overweight I know it’s not fun fitting into those seats at the amusement parks. And going to the beach in a swimsuit without having to cover doesn’t sound bad either!

November 29, 2010 Can Signs Be Misleading? (LOL)

Ok…..it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted. Been through a lot for the past few months and I still haven’t found work so tomorrow I guess I’m going to have to go through another temp service. I had plans for today but Rob and I got stuck with a little boy his sister usually watches so I have to put everything off ‘til tomorrow.


But some good news is that I got back onto the elliptical today for 15 minutes. I’ve been pretty lazy since I last posted. I’ve been doing more job hunting than anything. I got on the scale the other day and got a nice shock. I weighed 211. I could tell I was putting weight back on (doesn’t take long huh?) My clothes are starting to fit tighter so that was my 1st clue.

As for the contest I entered, I’m still in it; I just need to get back to a routine. I haven’t even made any progress to show anything. That is one of my motivations but now I’ve got another. Rob and I have talked about going on a vacation for the past couple of years and this year I think we are really considering it (which is why I have been really looking for a job). He’s been talking about Disney World for a while and he pointed out that “we’ve been together for over 6 years and have never been on an actual family vacation”. He and I have been on little getaways, like a couple days such as the weekend, but nothing to really get away and RELAX.

So I went back over my meal plan and workout schedule and made some tweaks here and there. As before, I stuck to The Eat Clean Diet© meal plan (because that’s the contest I entered and one of the rules is that you have to follow those guidelines from that book) and kept everything simple. I’ve also kept the workouts simple as well.

And speaking of working out, our neighborhood is putting in a new Athletic club so I’m hoping that we get to use the facility for free or if we have to pay, hopefully it’s a reasonable price, considering we’re local residents. Truthfully, I think it’s awesome that they put one in our neighborhood. Sometimes when I walk the girls to the bus stop, I can see the building from our street. It would take me about 5 minutes to walk there so I wouldn’t have any excuses of not going there to workout.

So to finish my rambling, (hey last time I posted was back in Aug, LOL) I have some new goals:

1. Lose a healthy amount of weight before going on Disney vacation trip planned for April 16th thru 23rd (IF WE DO GO)
2. Get to goal weight and track progress for the ECD3 Challenge
3. Goal weight is 120 lbs

One thing to help me keep everything on track, I’m going to buy myself a bulletin board that way all of my notes, goals and progress will stay in my view that way I won’t forget and get side-tracked. Hey, Rob is sitting here with me and he’s making a countdown for our Disney vacation. So yeah, I need to stick with my goals.

August 20, 2010 Is This a Sign? (LOL)

This whole week I’ve been thinking about how my job ended and realized that maybe it’s a sign that I really need to get out and away from that type of job field and really go for my goal/dream job. For the longest time I have always envisioned myself with my own business being a designer and artist. Because of the area I live in, there are other designers, just not many positions available, which sucks because this is what I went to school for! And also, I don’t really have any starter money to start a business. I love to draw and my favorite graphic design would have to be magazine layouts and publishing. I love to read magazines and books. Rob was laughing at me one day because he was surprised I haven’t asked for an e-reader yet. I told him truthfully I like having a book in my hand instead and that’s more money and you know you always see a new book you want to buy/download and plus I always use my art books for reference. I seem to notice that I’m always posting late in the night. Well, I’m usually up late waiting on Rob to get home from work. Going to finish watching HGTV Design Star, go upstairs and soak in the tub, drink my green tea and wait up for Rob.

August 20, 2010 Why Do Some Things Happen?

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted because a few things have happened.

The week of Friday the 13th wasn’t too bad in the beginning but by Friday is was a real bitch! I was so frustrated and annoyed by the end of the week. I did get some workouts in (my last workout was 8-11-10 and I did 29 minutes). To make things more annoying, they asked us at work (an extremely short notice on Friday) to work that Saturday. Of course I didn’t go in by the fact that I didn’t really get any sleep through the week and I called off Monday because rob had a fever and I didn’t get to sleep until 5am! So I went to work Tuesday, worked a full day and the temp service I work through called my cell phone and left a message telling me my assignment (job) ended! Are you kidding me?! This effin sucks! So now I’m on the job hunt (like many others) for a job that’s going to pay the bills. I even had to cancel my website. I’m thinking about starting a Facebook page or something for my artwork and digital/graphic designs. Who knows?! And on top of that (which isn’t that bad), the girls start school next week. Rob and I have the house to ourselves, but we’ve been talking about cleaning and renovating the house, especially the basement.

I’ve even fallen off the path a little to my ‘challenge’ I want to enter. I did find out more info today on the website and I have a goal deadline now for that. It’s from June 29, 2011 through July 28, 2011 (this is time to send in your entries and maybe a beach summer body? Hehe); and the winner will be chosen on or around August 15, 2011. So starting tomorrow, I’m going to get back to my routine and workouts and keep job hunting. If you know of any graphic design jobs or know someone looking for a designer, let me know!

August 10, 2010 Crappy Tuesdays

It’s kind of weird, but for the past 2 or 3 Tuesdays, the day just seems to be really annoying especially at work. (I know I mention work a bit but working in a warehouse sucks. I can’t really complain about moving around and being on my feet for 8 hours instead of getting an ‘office butt’. I used to have an office job and then was when I was at my heaviest. And I was always stressed out from that job too!)


I’m proud of myself. I did workout for a second day in a row (Yeah!) I did the strength training video for 25 minutes (that includes the 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down). And the goal is the same as well (try to do the whole 40 – 50 minutes). I’m slowly working my way back up to what I was doing before.

Looking forward to listening to the new 2fitchicks podcast (I just downloaded it).

August 9, 2010 Just another Monday

Getting up this morning was hard. Pretty exhausted from staying up until 1:30am (Eastern Time). For some reason I wasn’t tired and had some extra energy.


My meal plan is working out so far. I’m still making tweaks here and there. (I had an experimental accident with the microwave at work with the Cream of Wheat). So after that, I decided to go back to my breakfast smoothies (easy and convenient!)

I also got 30 minutes done of my cardio video (my goal is to get back to working out the whole 40-45 minutes). So my Monday was pretty easygoing. Well, again it’s getting late. Going to soak in my tub and have some green tea.
